Dear Parents

The second half of Autumn Term has exploded out of the blocks with a week full of imagination, colour and adventure as we take our school to the circus and build towards our community event this weekend - Cranford Under the Big Top!

Our annual Discovery Week has taken our Junior School pupils on an exciting adventure as they explore their curriculum through the lens of the circus. We are all incredibly excited to welcome families from Cranford and across the wider community to what we expect to be a very busy Discovery Day tomorrow. Please do feel free to come along and join us to share in all the fun and magic of the circus! From our big top and motorcycle shows, to hot air ballons, wing-walkers, zip wires, t-shirt printing, circus skills and so much more besides - it promises to be an exciting morning in school.

Barcelona Sports Tour
Our Senior pupils had a brilliant Sports Tour to Barcelona over half-term, enjoying the sights and sounds of this thrilling city coupled with some excellent football and hockey! After traveling and getting to grips with their surroundings on day one, they enjoyed a visit to a theme park followed by a lively bingo night—spirits were high and laughter was plenty! Thrown into an early morning hockey training session, the girls then spent the afternoon exploring the city and indulging in some shopping. In the evening, they played two exciting matches, putting into practice the skills they had learnt during the morning. Meanwhile, the boys focused on their football skills with a training session covering first touches, throw-ins, and penalties (though perhaps not taking too many tips from Mrs Levy and Mr Miller!).  They also wrapped up their day with a match. The pupils were just brilliant, representing the school fantastically, supporting each other and enjoying lots of hockey and football.   To top it all off, everyone came together one evening for a fun-filled karaoke session —lots of singing, smiles, and unforgettable memories! We can’t wait for the next Sports Tour!

Senior School Study Skills
On Wednesday morning we enjoyed welcoming Year 10 parents into school for our Study Skills Coffee Morning.  A huge thank you to everyone who attended this event. We will be continuing to work carefully with the students across Year 10-13 to support them in developing their study skills and growing as successful independent learners. We have all been impressed to watch these skills in action this week and look forward to seeing our pupils’ confidence develop over the course of the academic year as they navigate towrads GCSEs and A levels.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes

James Raymond

Head
