Dear Parents
Christmas has arrived at Cranford! We hope you all enjoyed driving into school on Monday and seeing the transformation of Moulsford House. The rest of the school looks equally festive, adorned with lights and Christmas trees and we can’t wait for you all to see it tomorrow for our wonderful annual PTA Christmas Fair. As I write, the PTA are working incredibly hard to set up for what promises to be a brilliant event. We have incredible stalls, music, food and plenty of fun, guaranteed to spread some Christmas spirit. Please do come along and get ahead with your Christmas shopping or pop in to enjoy the afternoon – the fair begins at 12pm til 3pm. We look forward to seeing you!
Anti-bullying Workshop for Key Stage 2 pupils
We frequently refer to one of our main school values, generosity of spirit, reflecting on how important it is as a foundation for all we do in school. As part of this, Junior School pupils enjoyed an anti-bullying workshop this morning, designed to promote kindness, respect and positive relationships. The children explored what bullying looks like and why it is important to support one and other. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn, share ideas, and commit to making a difference.
A level Philosophy and Religious Studies
On Tuesday, our A Level Philosophy and Religious Studies students spent an incredible day of lectures at the historic Bloomsbury Baptist Church — the very first church Martin Luther King Jr. spoke in when he visited England. Students engaged with thought-provoking sessions on euthanasia, whether science has displaced God, and gender-inclusive approaches to faith. Each lecture stretched their thinking, rooted firmly in the syllabus while encouraging them to question, explore, and reflect far beyond it. A stimulating and challenging day that deepened understanding, sparked debate, and reminded us why Philosophy and RS matter more than ever.
Work Experience coffee morning
Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for the Year 10 Work Experience Coffee Morning earlier in the week. It is very exciting for Year 10 as they begin to think about career paths, and we are looking forward to supporting this cohort as they consider next steps. We enjoyed hearing about all the brilliant partnerships in place between school and various local companies and would invite any parents who may be able to support our pupils with Work Experience and Internship Opportunities – please do drop the office an email.
Finally, I can’t tell you how lovely it has been to walk around school this week and watch all the rehearsals for the various shows in action. Reception pupils are working hard towards their Crib Service next week, whilst Key Stage 1 are having so much fun rehearsing their play ‘The Inn Spectors’. I know Mrs Powell is also having lots of fun in her lessons spreading festive cheer – a special shout out to Year 9’s enthusiastic renditions of a variety of Christmas songs this morning!

Please do take a moment to review our week in pictures.
From everyone at Cranford, we wish you a very happy weekend.
Warmest regards
James Raymond
