Our curriculum has been carefully designed to support our pupils in developing the key personal, social and cognitive skills that they will need to be successful at school and beyond.

As pupils enter Year 7, our bespoke Thinking Skills programme encourages them to develop as reflective learners, to think critically, challenge convention and develop independence. As pupils progress up through the Senior School, they benefit from the opportunity to engage in a wide range of academic extension, from the Extended Project Qualification, to Public Speaking, Debating, STEM projects and much more.

All our Senior School teachers are specialists in their subject areas. From Year 7, there are flexible groupings for English, Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, Geography, Computing and DT. The other subjects are taught in Form groups and include Music, PE, History, Religious Studies and Drama.

In Year 9, pupils select their GCSE choices which they study in Years 10 and 11. Students study 10 subjects to GCSE level with English, Mathematics, and Science being compulsory. All pupils have PE in their weekly timetable, even if they are not studying it for GCSE, along with weekly lessons which cover careers, life skills and preparation for Sixth Form or life beyond Cranford School.

"The school has given my child a sense of interest, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn."
