Cranford Class of 2024 awarded top marks at A-level

It has been a joyful morning of celebration for the Year 13 pupils and families at Cranford as they collected a record set of A Level results.

Results are incredibly strong across the board among this non-selective cohort, giving real weight to the school’s focus on providing a strong all-round education underpinned by academic excellence. A remarkable 64% of all grades achieved were awarded at A*-B with an impressive 45% achieving A*-A, a 20% increase in top marks from the previous year.

The strong standard of this year’s A Level results is a testament to the hard work and dedication students put into their studies supported by an outstanding teaching team, who have worked incredibly hard to support them throughout their journey through Sixth Form.

Subject specific results are equally impressive;

  • Science and Mathematics 83% A*-B
  • English Literature - 80% A*-B
  • Humanities (History, Politics, RS and Geography) - 77% A*-B.
  • Art & Music (Photography, 3D design, Textiles, Art & Design and Music) 50% at A*/A.

“We are extremely proud of each and every student as they head-off to exciting next steps beyond school. They are an exceptional group of young people who have retained a sense of fun and friendship, alongside their academic endeavours, throughout their time in Sixth Form. They are exemplary ambassadors for the school and richly deserve all of their success.”

Dr James Raymond, Headmaster

As a leading co-educational independent day school (3-18), with a strong emphasis on excellence in Sport and Music, and pastoral care that really values each individual student, these results reflect the school's burgeoning reputation for consistent academic excellence, with an average value add of +1.3 at GCSE over the last 7 years.

100% of graduating students are heading off to their chosen university, studying subjects as varied as Chemistry, Mathematics, Law, Sociology, PPE and Art History at universities ranging from Manchester to Bath, Royal Holloway, UCL, Oxford, Cambridge and Bristol, and many other top universities.

Heads of Sixth Form, Mrs Anne Mir and Dr Katy Hill, said "We are so fortunate to be able to spend time working so closely with each student to support them with their University and career aspirations, our focus on 1:1 support and guidance really allows us to bring out the potential in every student, we are so proud of them all."
