Admissions Overview

Cranford welcomes applications from students to join the school post-GCSE from September 2024. With a broad Sixth Form curriculum and an outstanding array of co-curricular opportunities, Cranford students are extremely well-placed to develop the skills and experience necessary for a successful transition to either university or the workplace.

Entry Requirements

An offer of a place for entrance into the Sixth Form at Cranford is conditional upon the student achieving a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 5, including English and Maths, with Grade 6 in the subjects proposed for study at A-level, unless specified otherwise.

Year 12 Admissions Process & Registration

We are now accepting registrations for entry to Sixth Form (Year 12) in September 2025. All prospective pupils must be registered with the school to be considered within the admissions process.

The assessment day comprises:

  • Interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Scholarship Interviews (Sport, Music, Art, Drama) Assessment and specialist paper
  • References are obtained from the student’s current school at that time.

Scholarships

Cranford offers a number of Academic Scholarships for entry at Sixth Form, subject to the Headmaster’s satisfaction with performance. Should a pupil’s performance fall below the required standard, their scholarship can be rescinded at any time. If notice is given to withdraw a pupil from the School, the Scholarship will be withdrawn and full fees will be charged for the duration of the notice period.

This Sixth Form Scholarship is awarded to pupils who demonstrate excellence on the Assessment Day. Scholarship assessment comprises a common core verbal and non-verbal reasoning paper plus a subject specific paper of the student’s choice.

A Scholarship may be supplemented by a Bursary up to the value of full fees at the discretion of the Headmaster. All Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Headmaster.
