Student Stories
We are so proud of the achievements of our A-Level students and the wide range of opportunities they are heading to after Cranford Sixth Form. Our Head of School team are examples of the broad destinations of the year group.
Head of Lower School, Rose, is heading to the University of Warwick to study French. Rose has achieved a very impressive and well-deserved 4 A-Levels at the top grade with an EPQ alongside. She has been an inspiration to her younger pupils as a talented Grade 8 pianist and has contributed to the life of the school in organising theatre and dance productions.
Heads of School, Toby joined Cranford for sixth form from Langtree School. Like Rose, he achieved fantastic A-Level and EPQ results and has been a musical talent and a role model to our younger pupils. We are thrilled that Toby’s influence and inspiration will continue as he joins the staff team as a teaching assistant before beginning his degree next year. Esther joined Cranford in Year 8 and has been an enthusiastic and authentic advocate for the school values of confidence, happiness and generosity of spirit in her Head of School role. Esther has secured a place on a competitive law apprenticeship in Hamburg, fulfilling her ambition to live independently in Germany.
Similarly, Tara has secured her offer to study Law at the University of Nottingham after achieving top grades in her A-Levels and EPQ. Deputy Head of School, Rosie, will also be joining the staff as a junior school teaching assistant, having joined Cranford as a junior pupil herself. Rosie has secured outstanding A Level results and will be heading to the University of Manchester to study Educational Psychology. Rosie and Tara have been active in volunteering for the Wallingford Hospital on a weekly basis during the sixth form. Rosie follows in the footsteps of last year’s Deputy Head of School, Sophia, who is starting her degree apprenticeship in Law at after working as a teaching assistant in our Junior School in her gap year. Sophia had attended Cranford since the beginning of Key Stage 1, like Lucy who achieved exceptional A Level results and has secured a competitive degree at one of the top dance academies, Addict Dance. Lucy was a passionate dancer even when she started Cranford in Reception; we have loved watching her development over the years and can’t wait to see where her talent takes her.
