Dear Parents,
It has been a joyful and energising week in school.
Our Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6 Open Classrooms were a particular highlight of the week. There is something very special about seeing children welcome their families into school, proudly sharing their work and offering a window into their everyday life in the classroom. The children loved the opportunity, and it was a pleasure to see so many families engaging so thoughtfully with their learning. Thank you to everyone who came along and made these sessions such a success.
It has also been a busy and exciting week of hockey fixtures. Congratulations to all pupils involved in the ISA hockey competitions this week. Our pupils represented the school with skill, determination and excellent team spirit. Finishing second in the Bowl, the squad showed the brilliance they are capable of, winning three matches and collecting one point in a draw, before a loss in the final. I'm sure you will all join me in wishing our U18 girls’ First Team the very best of luck as they head off to the national finals in Nottingham on Monday. Reaching this stage for the second year in a row is a tremendous achievement- good luck to everyone involved!

Without doubt, however, the standout moment of the week has been the Year 6–13 production of Oliver!
Our sports hall has been utterly transformed into a scene straight from the West End, and on Thursday evening the cast delivered a truly roof-raising opening night. The musicality, acting, storytelling and sheer joy on stage were simply exceptional- a roller-coaster of a performance that delighted the audience from start to finish and a trip to Dodger’s Drop is well worth a visit.
With over 100 pupils involved, this production represents an extraordinary collective effort, not just from the cast, but from the crew, musicians, staff and supporters working behind the scenes. Performances continue this evening and tomorrow, and I cannot wait to see them unfold.
Thank you to all the families who have come along to support the show - we are immensely proud of our pupils, and we know you are too.
I hope you are looking forward to a restful weekend! I'll hopefully see lots of you at the show!
With very best wishes,
James Raymond
