Dear Parents
It has been a wonderful start to the summer term. There is something genuinely special about being back together in the sunshine - hearing pupils’ stories from the Easter break, seeing the renewed energy around the school, and sensing that shared optimism that comes with a fresh beginning.
Our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils have returned in particularly impressive fashion. After a demanding Easter of revision and supported sessions, they have come back focused, calm and purposeful. I know you will join me in wishing them every success as they now move into their examination period. They are well prepared, and we are immensely proud of the way they have approached this important stage of their journey.
Over the Easter break, it was also a pleasure to remain connected with our residential visits, each distinctive in character but all reflecting the very best of school life.
The ski trip to Italy was full of challenge, energy and enjoyment, with pupils pushing themselves and embracing every opportunity. Our GCSE geographers experienced an extraordinary visit to Iceland, including a truly memorable glacier walk — an experience that will stay with them for many years. Meanwhile, the German department’s trip to Munich combined language, culture and history, with highlights including the BMW Museum and the Allianz Stadium, alongside a rich programme of cultural exploration.
These residential experiences matter enormously. They challenge pupils, build confidence and allow our values to be lived out beyond the classroom. Just as importantly, they are where friendships deepen and lasting memories are made. I hope you will take a few moments to review some of the pictures from these trips which can be found here.
There is much to look forward to this term. Pupils in Years 3–9 will all have opportunities to take part in residential experiences, and our Duke of Edinburgh groups will soon be heading out on their assessed expeditions. These moments play a central role in the journey we offer and in the growth we see in our pupils.
A huge thank you to our PTA for the new play equipment on the front field. It has been a joy to see it so well used by all our pupils this week - full of movement, laughter and enthusiasm. We are very grateful for your continued support.
Finally, over the Easter break we received confirmation of planning permission for the Year 11 common room extension. This builds on the senior school common room introduced in September, the recently developed Year 9 and 10 common space, and our existing Sixth Form provision. These developments reflect pupil voice directly and underline our commitment to providing high-quality social spaces across the school.
We are proud of our pupils - of how they conduct themselves, support one another and contribute so positively to school life. It has been a strong start to the term, and there is a great deal to look forward to in the weeks ahead.

With very best wishes,
James Raymond
