Dear Parents
It has been an exceptional and joyful week across the Cranford community.
Yesterday’s Senior School Sports Day and today’s Junior School Sports Day were truly spectacular occasions. Across both days, we witnessed sportsmanship, school values, athletic achievement, fun and generosity of spirit in abundance. I was in awe of the athleticism displayed by our pupils. Several school records were broken across the two days, there were some fiercely contested and highly impressive relay races, and, of course, the much-loved egg-and-spoon and sack races brought their own unique contribution to the excitement and house spirit on display.

What struck me most, however, was the common thread that united both schools. Beyond the competition and achievement, there was an overwhelming sense of kindness, encouragement and genuine joy in one another’s success. Pupils cheered each other on, celebrated achievements together and embodied the very best of the Cranford spirit. Please click here to see pictures of both Sports Days.
Many thanks to the large number of families who joined us to support the children. Your encouragement and presence helped make both days such memorable occasions.
It was also wonderful this week to welcome so many families to our Year 10 and Year 12 Parents’ Evening. Reaching the halfway point of GCSE and A Level study is a significant milestone. It was encouraging to reflect on the progress pupils have made and the strong foundations they have established as they begin to build towards next summer’s examinations and future aspirations.
Finally, congratulations must go to our Year 11 and Year 13 students, all of whom completed their GCSE and A Level examinations this week. This represents a major watershed moment in their educational journeys. They have worked with tremendous commitment, resilience and determination throughout the year, and they should be enormously proud of all they have achieved. We now look forward to celebrating with them as they enjoy a well-earned summer before the next exciting stage of their journeys begins in Sixth Form and beyond school.
As we approach the final weeks of term, this week has served as a wonderful reminder of everything that makes Cranford such a special community: ambition, kindness, encouragement, friendship and a genuine sense of joy in one another’s success.
With best wishes
