Dear Parents

It has been an exciting and busy final week of the half-term. I hope you are all looking forward to a well-earned and restful few days together as a family.

Last weekend we enjoyed a quite simply extraordinary production of Oliver! Across four roof-raising performances, our pupils wowed their audiences and took us on an unforgettable journey into the world of Charles Dickens. The dramatic performances were outstanding, the vocal work quite simply remarkable, and the storytelling confident, joyful and assured. With a professional-quality cast and crew, the production had all the energy, polish and heart of a West End show - West End next stop, perhaps!

We are immensely proud of the more than 100 pupils who made up the cast and crew. Their commitment, resilience and generosity of spirit were on full display, and the result was something truly special. Congratulations and a heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.

We also need to offer huge congratulations to our U18 Girls’ 1st Hockey Team who secured an impressive fourth place nationally in Nottingham at the U18 Schools Finals 2026. The girls demonstrated remarkable grit, resilience, and teamwork—stepping up for one another in every crucial moment. The level of hockey throughout the day was exceptionally high, and they rose to the challenge with real character. Their opening match was particularly outstanding, showcasing the high‑quality hockey they are capable of: smart connections, quick decision‑making, and excellent collaboration across the pitch. Well done, girls—you represented us brilliantly and should be incredibly proud of yourselves. Please do take a moment to see this formidable team in action!

It was wonderful to welcome parents to the Ski Trip launch meeting this week. With the added excitement of the Winter Olympics as a backdrop, not to mention success on the slopes for three of our Sixth Formers in the National School Ski Association Championships (well done Charlie, Tom and George!), this year’s trip promises to be another incredible adventure. We look forward to sharing it with the pupils involved when the trip departments at the end of term.

Finally, it was a real pleasure to welcome so many families into school for the Pre-Prep coffee morning and open classrooms. Children from Pre-School to Year 2 were delighted to share their learning, proudly showing their work and welcoming parents into their classrooms. These moments, full of warmth, confidence and joy, are always a highlight of the term and a powerful reminder of the importance of partnership between home and school.

Please enjoy these moments we have captured in pictures this week.

We wish you all a restful and enjoyable half term and look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the next exciting chapter.

With very best wishes

James Raymond

Head
