Senior Experience Day Science 2

Over the last few weeks, we have been busy filming lots of different aspects of life at Cranford, in preparation for our Virtual Open Day on Saturday. Reviewing all the footage, what has struck me particularly, is the eloquence, enthusiasm and joy with which the pupils and staff talk about our school community. From the videos of our youngest pupils in Nursery and Reception, happily playing and exploring their unique learning environment both inside and out, to our Year 7 pupils who have so smoothly transitioned to life in Senior School, to our Sixth Form students talking about their experiences, each video is incredibly natural and the passion of each pupil resonates our school values and all the things that make Cranford an exceptional place to be. Our Virtual Open Morning will be live from 9am on Saturday and we warmly welcome parents to join us by clicking on the Open Day link here: Cranford House Virtual Open Day

Earlier this week, we were very excited to host our first Year 6 transition event. Welcomed by their future Head of Year, Mrs Heard, Year 6 were treated to hot chocolate and cake on Wednesday morning whilst Mrs Heard explained to them all about what they could look forward to and what life entails in Year 7 and beyond! Year 6 then took part in some Senior School lessons in Music and Art before being treated to some exciting experiments in the Science labs. We know the day was a great success and enjoyed by all and look forward to hosting further transition events over the course of the year.

I have also heard about some beautiful call and response singing that our Year 6 pupils took part in, under the Willow Tree in Willow Court. With Miss Culver's encouragement and guidance, they sang something they composed. I understand from Mrs Lanyon that it was truly unique and hope the children shared their musical talents with you at home.

Our Year 2 pupils have had an equally busy week, conducting waterproof experiments. They have certainly had the weather for it and enthusiastically put a range of fabrics to the test to see which would make the best raincoat for their teacher. They have also been working incredibly hard conjuring characters to bring to life story telling. I look forward to hearing more!

We hope your children have been able to tell you more about some of their highlights this week in school. Below is a small snapshot in pictures:
