This morning in assembly, we reflected on the past ten days of our Spring Term. To say it has been remarkable is a bit of an understatement! The way all the pupils have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into virtual Cranford, so regularly demonstrating the school values of challenge, motivation and generosity of spirit, is to be applauded. I am so proud of our pupils and of what they have demonstrated they can achieve, adapting so quickly to a new and rapidly changing situation.

I only wish that parents could see the host of amazing teaching and learning that has been going on throughout all sections of the school. I am fortunate enough to get a snapshot of the incredible array of lessons our pupils benefit from, but know this is only the tip of the iceberg. We’ve had pupils re-enacting the Gruffalo in the woods, retelling the story of the Trojan War in sitting rooms, HIIT workouts in hallways, music lessons on sofas, Sixth Form lectures at kitchen tables and PE lessons in gardens. I’m certain this doesn’t convey everything but rather gives a flavour of all the action. I hope these pictures also help:

Now for the news you have all been waiting for, an update on the PE House Challenge! I can announce, based on the scores collated by Mr Deasy, that Gryffindor are leading for both Seniors and Juniors. The engagement across the school has been incredible so keep up the good work and don’t forget the skills sessions on Mondays and Thursdays that also help earn points!

Despite being separated geographically, one thing is certain, the strength of the Cranford community over the last two weeks is phenomenal. Thank you to you all for your unwavering support.

Have a lovely weekend!
