We have enjoyed a busy but fantastic first full week back here at Cranford House.

Moving around the school site this week, I have been particularly struck and impressed by our pupils’ support for one another in lessons and at playtimes through the day. It is especially heartening to see this support and collaboration taking place right across the year groups, both spontaneously in the playground, in mixed groups such our Junior cross-year boys’ football team and through the House system, which this week saw all our Seniors working together to produce performances for our upcoming Languages Week.

We often tell you, the parent body, that we believe happy children learn and succeed. Indeed, our core ethos remains our focus on nurturing happy confident pupils, with a strong sense of community, a spirit of enquiry and a love of learning. I’m proud to say that there has certainly been boundless evidence of that happiness all around us this week. For more photos, please do take a look at our Flickr albums.

My thanks to all of you who were able to join us for this week’s Welcome to Junior School evening. I look forward to meeting with more of you over the coming weeks.

With best wishes,

Dr J Raymond
