Dear Parents

The Summer Term continues to be blessed by wonderful weather and this afternoon the blue skies were a particularly welcome backdrop as parents joined us in school for the annual Reception Tea Party! An event that always proves a genuine highlight of the school calendar, Reception had worked incredibly hard to prepare a simply delightful afternoon tea for their families and invited guests. It was a real treat to share such a spectacular feast together with so many families and we were particularly grateful for the extra special effort made by our very important guests in dressing for the occasion. As well as preparing a truly delicious feast for their families, Reception shared some wonderful musical treats and were exceptional hosts! Thank you, Reception, for making the end of the week such a special one! Please do take a moment to see pictures from this wonderful event!

Residential Adventures!

Elsewhere in school this week, Year 3 and Year 5 have enjoyed exciting adventures on their residential trips! These opportunities are such important milestones in pupils’ school career - offering a chance to bond with friends, challenge themselves and create special memories! Please do take a moment to look here at some of the pictures from this week’s trip - I hope they you a small glimpse into the fun everyone has had.

We are looking forward to the Year 7-9 trip to Dorset which heads out on Sunday with no fewer than 180 pupils, whilst Year 4 are racing away to New Barn for their residential on Monday morning! By the end of next week every pupil from Year 3 to Year 9 will have been away on a residential visit with school this year. I am sure you will join me in wishing happy travels to everyone enjoying school residentials this term!

Year 6 Tea Concert On Tuesday, Year 6 concluded our Junior Tea concert season with two delightful performances (please see pictures here). We were wowed by the musicality and growing technical skills of our soloists and choirs as they continue on their musical journey through Cranford. Congratulations to everyone who participated in these concerts and thank you to the very many families who have joined us over the last few weeks to share in these performances. On Tuesday 1 July we are looking forward to welcoming families from across the school to the Hexagon in Reading for a whole school Musical extravaganza, showcasing the very best of Cranford's musical and performing arts - we very much hope you will be able to join us.

I hope you are all looking forward to a restful weekend in manage to get out and enjoy this lovely weather.

Best wishes,
Dr James Raymond
