This half term saw over 40 intrepid Senior School pupils heading to Austria for a fantastic week of adventure on our biennial ski trip.

Under sunny skies, they not only boosted their skiing skills, but also built friendships, explored exciting opportunities and shared new cultural experiences. In these changing times, it seems all the more important that as a school we provide our pupils with these opportunities to challenge themselves, to understand each other and to explore the world beyond our gates.

This theme continued as we welcomed the arrival on Monday of our guests from Hamburg on our Senior School German Exchange. It has been wonderful to see both sets of pupils sharing language skills and building connections and understanding that we hope will last long after the exchange is over. In a week that has seen our visitors share lessons in school and explore Oxford and London, I’m delighted to say that my overriding impression of their stay has been a real sense of friendship and fun!

Further afield, our annual Year 5 residential trip headed off to the New Forest. This is always one of the most eagerly awaited trips of the year and this year has proved no different as our boys and girls tackled an array of shared challenges from building catapults and tackling assault courses to mastering archery and toasting marshmallows round the campfire, not to mention an action-packed disco! As well as following the progress of all our trips on social media, you can also view lots of photos in the Cranford House Flickr albums.

With best wishes
