It was a pleasure to welcome our staff back into school on the 3 January, restored and buzzing with enthusiasm for the months ahead, and great to see our pupils heading back to school with an enthusiasm that augurs well for the coming Spring Term.

In particular, I’ve been impressed by the calm and focused approach adopted by our Year 11s as their Mock Examinations got underway. We wish them success during this very valuable preparation for their GCSEs this summer.

The Spring Term brings much to look forward to, including the launch of our Spring Sports programme, with this Saturday morning’s Years 3-6 Football tournament providing the first highlight. We can also look forward to the culmination of Year 7’s term-long Mission to Mars STEM assignment as they present their projects to parents and staff on Monday afternoon. I hope to see many of you at these events.

In staffing news, I am very pleased to welcome Mr Anthony Golden who joins us a teacher of Computing in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 and Mr Piers Heyworth who joins our governing body this term, having recently retired as Headmaster of the Manor Prep.

I am also delighted to see so many new families joining Cranford House this term, from Nursery right through into Senior School. I am sure you will all join me in extending a warm welcome to the newest members of our school community.

Finally, my best wishes to all our Year 6 pupils who are back in school tomorrow for their Senior School entrance and scholarship assessments.

Best regards,

Dr J Raymond
