Commemorating 100 Years of Votes For Women
As the UK celebrated women having the vote for 100 years on 6 February 2018, we commemorated the occasion in school with our very own protest, headed up by a band of Year 9 pupils resplendent in period dress.
Braving the cold, the girls put their recent study of the period to good use as they chanted Suffragette slogans and brandished placards based on those used by protestors 100 years ago. They also exhorted the rest of the school community to join them in voting on what the single most pressing issue of the next century might be.
