Excellent

Cranford has been awarded 'EXCELLENT' in all categories by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) at its most recent inspection. The detailed and robust inspection took place in November 2022 and praised the school for both pupils' academic and personal development.

The ISI Report serves to re-affirm Cranford’s aim and success in providing the highest quality of education and development; to create an environment which fosters each pupil’s well-being; to foster a strong sense of community; and to encourage pupils to embrace a sense of curiosity and a life-long love for learning.

“Pupils are highly motivated, have extremely positive attitudes to learning and are determined to make the most of the opportunities available to them at the school.” ISI Inspection

The inspectors judge the success of the school and outcomes for pupils under two over-arching categories – the Quality of Pupils Academic and Other Achievements and Pupils’ Personal Development. The school was judged to be ‘Excellent’ in both categories. The report is a rich reflection of school life at Cranford and takes particular note of pupils and pride in their school.

"We are delighted to be able share that Cranford has been awarded the highest possible outcome – ‘Double Excellent’ – in our recent Educational Quality and Regulatory Compliance inspection. I am incredibly proud of our pupils, school and community here at Cranford and a visit from the Inspectorate is always a wonderful opportunity to open the doors and share everything we do in school." Dr James Raymond - Headmaster

Key parts in evidencing the school’s quality of education included; inspectors observed lessons, examined pupils’ work and spoke directly with pupils, staff and governors. In addition, extra-curricular clubs, sport, music and theatre productions were observed, and pre-inspection questionnaires were sent to parents, staff and pupils which all help contribute to the excellent inspection outcome.

“All those lovely descriptions in the report of pupils and their self-confidence, lack of arrogance and appreciation of others - that’s the lovely girl we sit down to dinner with each evening.” Junior School Parent
