Jo Cotterill & Korky Paul Visit School

Pupils at Cranford House were treated to a double literary treat this week thanks to visits from none one, but two celebrated storytellers.
Award-winning author, Jo Cotterill, dropped by on Monday to run an interactive creative writing workshop with lucky Year 7 pupils, before taking part in the school’s Staff, Parent and Pupil Book Club as children and adults alike shared their thoughts on her novel, A Library Of Lemons, and its themes of bereavement, kindness and friendship.
Next, renowned illustrator and the artistic genius behind the much-loved Winnie the Witch series, Korky Paul, visited the South Oxfordshire school. Korky spent the day introducing both Nursery and Junior pupils to the art of story-telling through pictures, as well as working with GCSE students to hone their draughtsmanship.
Headmaster, Dr James Raymond, commented, “Reading for pleasure sits at the heart of daily life here at Cranford House so it has been wonderful to welcome two such well-known literary figures into school. We aim to offer our pupils as many inspiring experiences as we possibly can and I’m sure that meeting Jo and Korky will be something that stays with them for a long time.”
