There has been great excitement across the school as Year 2's chicks have started to hatch.

Having received their incubator and ten eggs at the start of the week, the boys and girls of Year 2 were thrilled when the first of their chicks hatched on Wednesday morning. Since then, chick number 1 has been joined by eight brothers and sisters, with just one still to hatch. The project has proved a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about life cycles and caring for animals, as well as a great exercise in patience!

Staff and pupils from across the school have dropped into the Year 2 classroom to admire Cranford's newest arrivals, including our Nursery children who met the chicks on a special visit to school. We look forward to meeting the rest of the brood once they emerge from their eggs and to watching them grow in the coming weeks.
