Year 7 & 8 Art Workshop at the Westgate

Thirty Key Stage 3 pupils headed to Oxford this week for a fascinating workshop with artist Adam Dant.
Girls from Years 7 and 8 enjoyed a unique privilege this week as they headed off for a fantastic day spent drawing the Oxford skyline with artist Adam Dant. First, they visited the Sheldonian Theatre to draw preliminary sketches of the city's panorama, before moving on to the Westgate Centre Marketing Suite. Here, pupils were given the chance to inspect Adam's incredible portfolio of work and to see how the landscape around him inspires his work. Filled with ideas, the girls then worked collaboratively on a large scale to create their own panoramic cityscapes. There is a chance some of their work will be on display in the new Westgate Shopping Centre when it opens in 2017 so keep your eyes peeled!
