A term spent studying Mars culminated in a spectacular display at yesterday's STEM Event.

Year 7 pulled out all the stops in showcasing the fruits of their Mission to Mars STEM project to parents and teachers. Having spent the Autumn Term learning all about the red planet, including how we'd get there and what conditions are needed to support life, pupils presented their findings and ideas on a whole host of related topics, including rocket prototypes, housing designs, communication modes and possible food sources. Comprised on an ingenious mix of models, booklets, online presentations and quizzes, Arduino micro-controllers and posters, the girls' projects were fantastic examples of STEM's blend of Mathematics, Science, Technology and Engineering in action.
