Years 9 & 10 Art Workshop

GCSE Art pupils enjoyed a truly inspirational workshop with local sculptor, Andrew Harrison, this week.
The award-winning local artist joined pupils at Cranford House to collaborate on a project with epic proportions! During a two-day workshop, Andrew worked with 20 pupils from Years 9 and 10 to transform a vast one-ton block of oak into a superb sculpted base for Cranford House's own Tyrannosaurus rex skull. The girls were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with so closely with a professional artist and to learn a host of new techniques that saw them carving, burning, waxing and dying the huge base, with spectacular results.
The finished sculpture will now travel to Andrew's SOTA Gallery in Witney where it will form the centrepiece of T-REXHIBITION, a three-week long showcase. Running from 11 February to 3 March, it will be a great chance to see both the completed piece and the amazing T-Rex skull for yourself before they return to their permanent home at school.
